Returned to the Merry Greenwood

£975.00
Sold

Recycled upholstery fabric, oil and household paints.

38.5 by 56cm

This is from a hedonistic summer walk through hazy sunshine and long grasses at Petworth House. The gardens and park have a long-varied history for example they were designed by Capability Brown. The fabric is from the artists nursery curtains from 1970 and family curtains from 2000. The fabric is more dominate and the painting slips into areas of abstraction. The title of this piece comes from a Robin Hood Ballard.
